🚀 LaunchPad #5: Coldplay, Chaos, and Career Moves
Because sometimes the real drama isn’t in the job description.
Welcome to Issue #5 of LaunchPad!
Last week was hilarious. Astronomer, the company behind Airflow, basically nose-dived into scandal territory with layoffs, resignations, and leadership drama that somehow managed to rope in Coldplay. Yes, the band. Apparently, the CEO and CPO were caught in an affair while the company was imploding and trying to court investors. You can't make this stuff up. I went to the Coldplay concert here in Toronto a few weeks ago, and part of me wishes this dude decided to visit the 6ix instead of attending the Boston show.
All in all, it's a reminder that no matter how shiny a company looks from the outside, it's worth doing a little digging. Are they actually building something meaningful? Or just building tension in the exec suite? If you're job hunting, it's less about ping pong tables and more about the people you'd actually be working with.
That’s part of why I created LaunchPad — to help surface great roles and teams in tech that feel grounded, not gimmicky. Every Tuesday, I send out this curated list of Toronto-based roles across Strategy, Growth, Revenue, Product, and more. And every Thursday, I spotlight one company or role worth a deeper look.
If a friend sent this your way and you're into staying one step ahead in your job search, you can subscribe below. Otherwise, scroll on for the good stuff. No scandals here. Just jobs worth your time.

Thanks for reading this week’s edition of LaunchPad. The job market can feel like the wild west some days, but my goal is for this to be a place you can rely on for high-quality roles, useful context, and a bit more confidence in your next step.
If you see something you like, go for it. If you find this helpful, please share it with a friend who’s also looking to break into tech or level up their career. More good things will be landing in your inbox next week!
